In this final episode, I talk about what has gone on since the last episode, some things my wife and I have gone through with adoption and an upcoming pregnancy, as well as a farewell with many thanks.

Yes, I'm Still Alive

I know it seems like the last episode is never coming, but let me assure you it is. My kids were really sick for a long time, and then they got better - but now I'm sick. My voice has been sounding pretty bad for quite a while now, but it's getting better. I will do my best to record the final episode THIS weekend, and post it next week with a photo of our family as requested by a listener. Thank you all for your patience - it is ridiculous how long it has been since the last episode and for that I am very sorry. Shame on me!

Out Sick

Hello Everyone,

So I haven't posted the final episode as promised. I'm sorry! :( Our kids have been super sick, throwing up, diarrhea, and horrible respiratory stuff. It's been no fun and my wife is doing a super hero job and taking care of them. So we've been changing diapers, measuring out & administering medicine, doing breathing treatments and cleaning up vomit a lot lately.

Still, these are all just excuses, but I wanted to give you all a reason for my tardy posting. I will get the last episode out as soon as I can. Thanks again all of you for listening!

One Final Episode is Coming

I'm terribly sorry there has been no update in a very long time. I've been trying to figure out what to do with this podcast as my wife and I are no longer foster parents. We may do it again in the future, but that would be a long time from now. If you haven't heard on the podcast, we've adopted a little girl, and shortly thereafter, found out we were pregnant. Whenever we tell people that story we hear, "I've heard that happens a lot." For this reason I'm going to talk about the experience of finding out you're expecting soon after your adoption finally goes through - in one last episode before closing shop. For my wife and I it has been a lot to process. The stress of soon having three children, three and under has been hanging over our heads. We've also been surprised that the bonding with our new adopted daughter played a role in our bonding with our next child. It will be the last episode of Fostering With Love as we're no longer foster parents. I'd hate to just leave you hanging, and I think it will be a valuable episode, so there's one more coming.

I'm sorry to end the podcast on you, and again I'm sorry it has been such a very long time since the last episode dropped. Before this week is over I'll have the final episode posted. Thank you so much for listening. Your feedback has been amazing, and I'm thrilled that this podcast has inspired others to blog about their experiences among other things.

Although my journey with you on this podcast is ending, I'm not going to stop podcasting anytime soon. I have another podcast going which showcases my fiction. I'm a writer of mostly science fiction & fantasy, but I also write the occasional thriller. On my blog you can find all the short stories I've written, free to listen to in podcast form. Many have extra production behind the reading including sound effects and background music. I'm working on making my stories available in all the eBook formats as well, and those will be coming soon. Also, on 11/11/11 I'll be releasing my first full novel as a free podcast and cheap eBook in all the formats out there.
